AOL Books

In a past life, I co-authored two books about America Online. I hope you won't hold that against me. They're both out-of-date (not to mention out of print) by now, but that's the nature of computer books.

AOL in a Nutshell
Picture of AOLNut cover My friend Curt Degenhart and I split the duties on this one, cranking out 500 pages in fewer months than we'd like to think about. Some detractors think we've destroyed O'Reilly & Associates' geek credibility by associating the sacred "Nutshell" name with America Online, but most readers are thrilled that there's finally an AOL book for users who already know what they're doing.

The Insider's Guide to America Online
This book was written by a cartoon character: Meg Booker, the AOL Insider. Don't buy it? Okay, how about this one: this book was written by four staff writers and a few freelancers, and revised over many late-night conference-room dinners of saag paneer and chicken curry.

This is a content guide, not a manual like AOL in a Nutshell, so it's better for newbies.
