College Rape

I was certified as a rape crisis counselor by Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services in 1994. My certification has long since lapsed but I still have all the course materials, and used them to write these articles in 1998. The company I wrote them for went belly-up and pulled all its content off the web, but this is an important subject, so I felt obligated to post these articles again. (If you're a lawyer from that company, please email me before you sue me).

These articles are oriented towards female college students, because there are issues unique to that group. Male rape survivors and those who are not in college can still benefit from some of the information here, but are encouraged -- along with anyone else who needs more information -- to explore the other resources out there.

The Real Facts About College Rape: It's not necessarily the type of guy your mother warned you about.

Fighting Back: He's bigger. He's stronger. You can defend yourself anyway.

If You've Been Raped: No matter how powerless you feel, there's plenty you can do.
